“Invalid User ID or Password” Message Appears When Logging Onto Sage Pro ERP

Issue

The following error message appears when logging onto Sage Pro ERP:

“Invalid User ID or Password”

The system maintenance tools do not resolve this issue.

Solution or Workaround

One cause of this issue has been found to a corrupted user index file: SYUUSER.CDX. In order to resolve this issue, follow the steps below:

  1. Locate the SYUUSER.CDX file in the Sage Pro root installation directory.
  2. Create a backup of this file.
  3. Right-click the SYUUSER.CDX file and click Rename.
  4. Rename this file. For example, rename it as “SYUUSER.CDX.OLD.”
  5. Restart Sage Pro.
  6. Logon an administrator type user.

The index is rebuilt once Sage Pro is restarted; the logon should now be successful.
