GL Account is Classified Under An Incorrect Account Type

Issue

When previewing financial statements such as the income statement, a GL account is classified under the incorrect account type.

Solution or Workaround

When this occurs, verify what account type was assigned in Account Maintenance. Use the following steps to troubleshoot if the account type assigned to the gl account because the account is not within the account range.

  1. Verify what account type was assigned in Account Maintenance
  2. If the Account Type assigned does not correspond to the account range for the GL account, this may indicate a data issue in the GLACNT.Gltype field for that GL account record. If this is the case, this will require entering the correct account type in the GLACNT.Gltype field .

Data edits should be done by a Sage Certified Consultant or Business Partner. Create a full and verified backup before proceeding. This should first be attempted in a test installation and the results should be fully verified before implementing in a live system.
