Print Bins on a Work Order Traveler

Solution:

Bins for a component items may not print on the Work Order Traveler. This solution describes how to print the Bins for a Work Order Traveler.

Bins must be assigned to Bill of Material (BOM) component items for them to print on the Work Order Traveler. The following steps describes the process to assign Bins to component items. These steps may vary depending on the work flow used in a particular business environment.

  1. For Bins to be enabled in Sage Pro ERP, the option must be selected in the Inventory Control (IC) module.
    1. Open the Inventory Control (IC) module.
    2. Under the File menu and click Change Setup Information, the IC System Setup screen will appear.
    3. Click Proceed, the Default GL Accounts will appear.
    4. Click Save, the Multi Location tab will be active.
    5. Select the Use ‘Bins’ option
    6. Click Save.
      Important The company must be setup as a multi-location company (in IC Setup), for stores and bins to be available.
  2. Open the Production Entry (PE) module
  3. Under the Maintain menu and click Bill of Materials, the Bill of Materials screen will appear.
  4. Select the BOM and component to Edit.
  5. Enter the default Bin location, to be used for that component, in the Store/Bin field. Repeat this process for all appropriate components and subassemblies.
  6. Save the changes.
    Important Bins may also be assigned or edited during Work Order creation.
  7. Open the WO module.
  8. Under the Transaction menu, click Change Work Orders; the Change Work Orders screen will appear.
  9. Select the Work Order from the Work Order picklist button.
  10. Click WO when the following message appears: “List work orders in what order?” The Change Work Orders screen will appear.
  11. Click Lines, the Change Component Details for Work Orders screen will appear.
  12. Click Edit.
  13. Highlight the component that will have an assigned Bin location.
  14. Type the Bin into the Bin field.
  15. Click Save.

The Work Order Traveler will now print the Bin for the component, as part of the description.
