Q: This article clarifies the maximum size for the General Ledger (GL) accounts and segments.
A: In Sage Pro 7.3B and prior, GL accounts were allowed a maximum of 24 characters, including hyphens. There were a maximum of 6 segments allowed.

As of Sage Pro 7.4, the out-of-box product allows a maximum of 36 characters, including hyphens. A maximum of 15 segments are allowed. It also supports a user defined account structure up to 90 characters in length with a maximum of 15 segments.
