There is a documented feature to add a code to a field in customer master maintenance. This will define if the document should be faxed, emailed or printed and will override the default setting in Message Master. This is designed to work only when printing in batch mode. When printing in batch mode the user is prompted to verify each customer. If No is selected it works as expected. If yes is selected it will use the default setting in Message Master. The prompt option is not documented.
