Solution:
This article describes the basic troubleshooting process for Sage Pro ERP.
Before troubleshooting, the following maintenance steps should be followed:
- Clear Flags
- Reindex Application and System
- Check table integrity 4606
- Rebuild database container (Microsoft Visual Fox Pro database only) 21935
- Investigate printers, bad network cables and other hardware
- All users out of the system
- Create full and verified backup
Follow and document the troubleshooting steps in order until a pattern is determined:
- Determine the exact sequence of events that causes the issue.
- Determine whether anything changed in the system just prior to the onset of the issue.
- Attempt to reproduce issues in Company 99 data.
- If the error does not occur in Company 99, it is most likely an issue with the live company data. Continue to step four.
- If the error does occur in Company 99, it may be a program or environmental issue. Continue to step four.
- Attempt the same process on each workstation used to access Sage Pro. Use live company data if the error was not recreatable in Company 99.
- Record the results and operating system at each workstation.
- Also, logon to Sage Pro as a different user to determine whether the user is the issue.
- If the situation is recreatable at each workstation and this issue does not occur with Company 99 data, issue is data related.
- If it only occurs on one or a few workstations, environmental issues with the workstations may be the cause. Continue to step five.
- Attempt the same process on a local copy of Sage Pro, not connected to the network.
- If the issue occurs on the local installation, this is most likely a program issue.
- If the issue no longer occurs, it is most likely a network communication issue. Please consult with the network administrator to resolve any network related issues.
