Issue

Reference PTR 84925

The following message appears when attempting to print or preview a posting register:

XML Parse Error (Error 1435)

This occurs when the company or item name has a non alpha numeric character such as an ampersand or backslash.

Build Information

Tested in Sage Pro 7.5 Build 3500

Steps to Recreate

The following steps were reproduced in sample company 99.

  1. Open the General Ledger (GL) module.
  2. Allow detailed postings from Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivables (AR) and Inventory Control (IC).
  3. Open the AR module.
  4. Open Customer Maintenance.
  5. Edit the company company name to include a non alphanumeric character “&”  for customer ADG1
  6. Release to GL.
  7. Post the batch in Detail and the error message will appear.

This also occurs when printing a detail register that includes IC receipts/issues.

Solution or Workaround

This has been reported in PTR 89463 and has been resolved in Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Sage Pro 7.5. In some cases after applying SP1, the error will still appear. This indicates corrupted memo fields which stores the XML information. If this occurs please use the FIXXML tool which can be downloaded from Sage website.
