Customize Row Fetch Size Values in Microsoft SQL Server Installations of Sage Pro ERP

Solution:

The Row Fetch Size option is available in ACCPAC Pro Series 7.3 and later versions. The default settings are: “All,” “100” and “1000.” It may be necessary to edit these values or add additional options. This article explains how to customize this drop-down box.

This customization can only be done on a fully licensed version of at least Microsoft Visual FoxPro 8.0 SP1 (VFP). Note: The following should only be done by an ACCPAC Certified Consultant or Business Partner. Create a full and verified backup before proceeding. This should first be attempted in a test installation and the results should be fully verified before implementing in a live system. Follow the steps below to customize row fetch size values:

  1. Open VFP.
  2. In the command window, point-to the root directory of the Pro Series SQL installation being modified (see attachment rowFetch1.jpg).
  3. Type DO (_browser) WITH “sm/smfins” into the command window (see attachment rowFetch1.jpg).
  4. The Class Browser screen should appear for smfins.vcx. Double-click the smfins form icon (see attachment rowFetch2.jpg).
  5. The Class Designer screen appears for form smfins.vcx. Click Ctrl + Shift and click the DataDriller Row Fetch Size drop-down box (see attachment rowFetch3.jpg).
  6. In the Properties screen, right-click All and click Non-Default Properties (see attachment rowFetch4.jpg).
  7. Click RowSource and edit the values to what is required (see attachment rowFetch5.jpg).
  8. Save.
  9. Exit VFP and launch Pro Series.
  10. Open System Manager.
  11. Under the Maintain menu, point-to Setup and click System Installation.
  12. Click Edit.
  13. Open the Row Fetch Size drop-down box and observe that the values have been correctly edited.
  14. Select the appropriate value and save.
  15. Test using various datadrillers and picklists to verify that this selection functions correctly.
