Issue

When entering a Payroll posting the program does not appear to do anything for a long time.

Solution

This could happen if there are duplicate PRSEQNO records found in a combination of PRPOST and PRYPST. This might happen if a conversion was made from VisionPoint. If old data existed and a purge was made the oldest and lower numbered PRSEQNO records would be removed leaving the higher numbered records.

If records are added until they reach the higher range the program will try to search for a unique number to use but won’t be able to find one.

A recommended solution is to purge out the older data. If this data is still required create a second payroll company and copy the data over for historical reporting before purging data in the original company.
