Error 1466 When Converting to Sage Pro 7.4 Using Microsoft SQL From Microsoft Visual FoxPro Version

When converting from a Microsoft Visual FoxPro (VFP) version of Sage Pro to Microsoft SQL version of Sage Pro 7.4 the following error may appear:

Error 1466: Connection handle is invalid.
Called from: smtupd Line number: 343

Solution or Workaround

This Hot Fix addresses PTR 84885 for Sage Pro ERP 7.4 Build 3400.

Hot Fix files included (in the Pro74 program folder of the Sage Pro 7.4 product cd):

  • SYUPDT1.CAB
  • SYUPDT2.CAB

Important Notes

  1. This Hot Fix should only be applied to Sage Pro ERP 7.4 Build 3400.
  2. PTR 84885 will be corrected in the next version of the product created or possibly reposting of the Sage Pro 7.4 product downloadable from the website. In the latter case the Knowledgebase solution for this Hot Fix will be updated with this information.
  3. Review the Readme.txt file included with the Hot Fix as it contains important implementation instructions.
  4. Back up affected program files and data before applying Hot Fix.
  5. Apply Hot Fix in a test environment to ensure proper results before implementing in a live installation.
  6. Verify that Hot Fix files will not overwrite any modifications. If there are modified files, a qualified Sage Certified Consultant familiar with the modifications should be used to integrate the changes.
