“‘Error 1526: Incorrect syntax near “S”. ” Message When Exporting Company

Issue

The following message appears when attempting to export company data using Sage Pro export feature using a Microsoft SQL database:

Error 1526: Incorrect syntax near “S”.

Solution or Workaround

Important
The following should only be done by a Sage Certified Consultant or Business Partner. Create a full and verified backup before proceeding. This should first be attempted in a test installation and the results should be fully verified before implementing in a live system. This information pertains to database administration which is beyond the scope of support, therefore this information is provides as is.

There has only been one reported incident. This occurs if you have detached the Sage Pro database, renamed the Microsoft SQL database directory and then reattached the directory. Sage Pro attempts to export the data in the original pro_import_export folder located within the Microsoft SQL directory.

To resolve the issue the naming convention of the Microsoft SQL directory structure must conform with the path name identified in the SYSDATABASES.Filename found in the Microsoft SQL master database.
