The following message appears when running a process in Sage Pro:

Error 1526: String or Binary Data Would be Truncated

Solution or Workaround

Important
The following should only be done by a Sage Certified Consultant or Business Partner. Create a full and verified backup before proceeding. This should first be attempted in a test installation and the results should be fully verified before implementing in a live system.

This message indicates a field length discrepancy; a specific field’s length has not been updated for all application or system tables using that field. To resolve the issue, you need to correct this discrepancy. Verifying file structures may not be able to identify the discrepancy, if this is the case you may need to troubleshoot using the error log.
