“Error 26: Table Has No Index or Order Set” When Attempting a Transaction or Function Within Sage Pro ERP

Issue

When attempting any transactions or functions in the program, the following message appears:

Error 26: Table Has No Index or Order Set

Solution or Workaround

Generally, this error appears as a result of corrupted indexes or tables. This may occur because of many reasons such as a system crash or a power failure. Refer to the list below for some suggested resolutions:

Note: Create a full and verified backup before proceeding.

  • Reindex the program through System Manager. In some cases, this function may cause the error; however, performing a reindex will identify the tables causing the error.
  • Perform a clean reindex and delete temporary files.
Note: The reindex option will not resolve the issue in a Microsoft SQL Server database.
  • Remove custom forms and reports.
  • Use a file fix utility to correct the issue. This is available from Sage Business Partners or Certified Consultants.

If none of these suggestions correct the issue, then restore to a complete backup from prior to this issue. Do not perform a partial restore as this may create a multitude of other issues.
