Error When Upgrading an Existing SQL Install

During an upgrade from a Sage Pro ERP SQL database install the following message appears:
“You are attempting to change your Sage Pro ERP database from Microsoft SQL to another database.
To continue with a new installation, choose another folder.

Q: What does this message mean and why does it happen?

A: This message appears if the activation code being used does not include a SQL option for upgrading the existing SQL install. A new code that includes the SQL option will be required.
