In ICTRAN and ICYTRN, What Do the Values “V” and “R” Represent in the Petrantype Field?

Questions and Answers

Q: Since there is no documented information on the “V” and “R” values for ICDIST.Petrantype and ICYDST. Petrantype in the Technical Reference Guide, this article will provide more information on these values.

A: In Sage Pro ERP 7.3, two new data values were introduced for the Petrantype field in ICDIST and ICYDST tables to handle variance and rounding issues. Sage Pro creates a separate record in ICDIST for variance or rounding issues. When closing the period for Inventory Control (IC), these records are moved to ICYDST.

  • A record where Petrantype is populated with a “V” value indicates a Cost Variance on the Finished Good for a Standard Cost company.
  • A record where Petrantype is populated with a “R” value indicates the Rounding Error for a finished good item.  It is generated when the sum of the components costs (rounded down to 2 digits) for each component line item differs from the sum of the component costs calculated to 5 digits (rounded down to 2 digits).

Further information on values found in ICDIST.Petrantype and ICYDST. Petrantype can be found in the Technical Reference Guide, located in the Documentation on Disk (DoconDisk).
