Sage Pro Compatibility With Microsoft SQL Server 2008

Issue

Currently as of Sage Pro 7.5, Sage Pro is not compatible with Microsoft SQL Server 2008. Installation will not succeed because the SQL Server native client name and registration in the registry has been changed.

Build Information

Sage Pro 7.5 Build 3500

Steps to Recreate

  1. Install Sage Pro 7.5 with the SQL Server option selected.
  2. Navigate past the SQL Native client warning
  3. Convert to SQL when prompted

Note the following:

  • The DSN connection screen needs to have SQL Server 2008 added as an option
  • The native client detection needs to be altered to recognize the new SQLNCLI10.DLL and sqlceodb30.dll.
