Sales Order Displays Unit Costs of Zero for Kitted Items

Issue

Sales Order shows unit costs of zero for kitted items.

Build Information

Sage Pro 7.3 with Service Pack 3 (SP3)

Steps to Recreate

  1. Open the Production Entry (PE) application module for sample company 99.
  2. Select the following option for item BACD in Bills of Material Maintenance:
    • Configuring during SO Entry
    • Kit during SO Entry
  3. Create a Sales Order and select BOM item BACD
  4. Click Kit Now.
  5. Enter a quantity.
  6. Press ENTER, the Configuration screen appears.
  7. Save
  8. Click on the Line Item Listing tab.

You will see the Unit Cost for the stock items will of zero value unit cost. If you add a non-stock item to the BOM and ten add the kit item to a Sales Order the cost will be updated on the Sales Order correctly.

Notes

According to Sage Pro Development, this appears to be a cosmetic issue with the Sales Order screen. After the order has been shipped, the correct costs are posted to Cost of Goods Sold.

Solution or Workaround

This issue has been reported in PTR 89192 and has been submitted to Sage Pro Development to be evaluated for future build. To check the status of this issue, please contact Sage Customer Support.
