Issue

The following message appears when logging into Sage Pro ERP:

• The temporary data directory is not accessible.
  [drive letter]:\[path to temp folder]\temp
• The system data directory will be used for temporary files.
  [drive letter]:\[path to system data]

When this message appears, click OK to continue using the program, The system data directory will be used for temporary files. However, this message will appear every time a user logs into Sage Pro.

Solution or Workaround

This issue occurs if there is a period (.) anywhere in the path containing the temporary data directory; Sage Pro does not recognize folders that contain periods.

To resolve this issue, follow the steps below:

• Change the temporary files path settings to use a path that does not include a period.
• Edit the temporary file directory environmental variables settings to reflect the changes made in the previous step.

This has been documented in PTR 80848 and has been addressed in Sage Pro 7.4.
