Issue

When installing or converting to Sage Pro ERP with Microsoft SQL Server (SQL), the following message appears:

This feature is not available for an installation currently using FoxPro database. It is only available for an installation already setup to use SQL database.

As a result, the Microsoft Visual FoxPro version of Sage Pro will be installed. There are no further prompts to convert to the SQL version of Sage Pro and the Convert to SQL function will result in errors when attempted.

Solution or Workaround

There are three possible causes of this issue:

  • The activation code being used does not include “SQL Manager”. To verify this, attempt a new installation and choose a Custom Install. This lists the modules and options that will be installed with this activation code. Verify that “Pro SQL Manager” has been included with this code.
  • The activation code includes “SQL Manager” but it was not selected during installation. Verify that this option has selected during the Custom Install process.
  • The conversion process prompts to update from the Data Dictionary for all companies. If this is not done, the conversion process will not proceed to the SQL installation. To correct this, redo the installation and update from the Data Dictionary when prompted.
