Issue
The following message appears when launching Sage Pro ERP after installing Microsoft SQL Server (SQL) Service Pack 4:
This version of ACCPAC Pro Series requires SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 2 or later.
This error can occur with the parameters:
- New installations or conversions to Sage Pro SQL, if Service Pack 4 already exists on the SQL Server.
- Logging onto existing Sage Pro SQL installations, if Service Pack 4 has recently been installed on the SQL Server.
Solution or Workaround
Microsoft changed their build numbering format with the release of SQL Service Pack 4. Sage Pro requires that at least SQL Service Pack 2 be installed when using Sage Pro SQL. As a result of this numbering format change by Microsoft, the program misinterprets the installation as not meeting the minimum service pack requirement. Refer to the list below for suggestions on how to correct this issue:
- Sage Pro 7.3B Build 3301 includes a fix for this issue. It can be downloaded from the Pro Resource Center at http://support.accpac.com/partners/ProductResources/Pro73Resources.asp.
- The current download of Sage Pro 7.3 Build 3300 also includes a fix for this issue. This can also be downloaded from the Pro Resource Center.
Important
This download has been updated to include a fix which avoids this error. This is the only change from the prior download and all regular service packs should still be installed. - Existing Sage Pro 7.3 Build 3300 installations must download Service Pack 3 which contains a fix for this issue.
