Issue
The following message appears when selecting a custom menu item:
To execute FoxPro program the DOS environment must contain a variable name SBTWSID”
This may occur on one or all workstations.
Solution or Workaround
Important
Some of the steps provided pertain to a Microsoft Windows XP environment. The steps may differ or vary if other versions of Microsoft Windows are used. In those cases, please refer to the operating system documentation.
This issue occurs if the environmental variables have not been properly configured on the workstation, for the Workstation ID. Follow the steps below to resolve the issue:
- Identify the Workstation ID
- Open System Manager (SM).
- Under the Maintain menu, click Users.
- Select any user from the User ID picklist.
- Click Defaults.
- Note the value stored in the Workstation ID field.
- Open the Control Panel on affected workstation.
- Double-click System.
- Click Advanced.
- Click Environmental Variables.
- Click New under User Variable.
- Type “SBTWSID” into the Variable Name field.
- Type the Workstation ID, which was noted in Step 1, into the Variable Value field.
- Click OK.
- Click New under System Variable.
- Repeat Steps 7 through 9 for System Variable.
- Click OK in the Environmental Variables screen.
- Click OK to exit.
Restart the Sage Pro application for the changes to take effect, the custom menu item should now work.
