Using the ENTER Key Does Not Save the Journal Entry in the Standard Entries Maintenance Screen.

Issue

Sample Company 99 Recreate Steps for Sage Pro 7.4 With Service Pack 3:

  1. Open the General Ledger (GL) application module.
  2. Open Standard Entries Maintenance.
  3. Create a new Standard code.
  4. Set Type to Either Percent or Dollar.
  5. Select a GL account.
  6. Enter either a zero debit or credit amount entry.
  7. Press ENTER to continue to the next field which is the Commentbox.

If you continue to press ENTER, the cursor will not leave the Comment field. As a result the journal entry will not display on the Standard Entries Maintenance datagrid and the Save button will not be active.

Solution or Workaround

This has been reported in PTR 88338, it has been submitted to Sage Pro Development to be evaluated for future build. Please contact Sage Pro Customer Support to check the status of this PTR.

The current solution to resolve this issue is to press the TAB key once the cursor is in the Comment field. This will save the journal entry in the Standard Entries Maintenance datagrid and will make the Save button active.
