Why Are Incorrect Pages Displayed on the Payroll Register Report?

Questions and Answers

Q: The Payroll Register report may print and preview with truncated page numbers if the following conditions are met:

  • Report exceeds 999 pages.
  • Report format is set to Condensed.

Example

When  previewing page 1235 of the Payroll Register report, the page number may display page 123 instead of page 1235.

A: This occurs because the page number field on the Payroll Register Report form can only accommodate 3 characters, the issue has been addressed in Sage Pro 7.4. More information is provided below on how to resolve the issue for versions prior to Sage Pro 7.4.

Important
The following should only be done by a Sage Certified Consultant or Business Partner. Create a full and verified backup before proceeding. This should first be attempted in a test installation and the results should be fully verified before implementing in a live system.

To resolve the issue for version prior to Sage Pro 7.4, a custom report needs to be created for the Payroll Register Condensed (PRPR02) report. The page field on the custom report needs to be manually expanded to accommodate pages exceeding 3 characters. More information on how to create custom reports can be found in the System Manager documentation.
